Hello I am Barbara Anne Applegate, a self taught artist, I started my painting career in the late 1970's with oil on canvas, I then moved to Arcylic decorative art in the 1980's. In the 1997, I started creating computer generated dog animation using some of my old artwork which I used to create my animation. I have moved back to painting on canvas with oils in April of 2007. I raise Australian Shepherd dogs so I am most comfortable painting animals, landscapes and seascapes with a flair of the southwest where I grew up.
I was born in Texas, raised in New Mexico, I have lived in Washington, California, Minnesota, Connecticut, and Oregon since 1981, and moved to the beautifully wild and scenic Rogue River Valley of Southern Oregon in 1991. So my painting reflects many diverse areas of the country.
